Fourstones Achieves ISO 14064-1:2018 Certification
Fourstones has achieved ISO 14064-1:2018 certification, marking a significant milestone. We are one of the first UK paper manufacturer and paper converters to obtain this important environmental certification.
ISO 14064-1:2018 stands as the most recent standard established by the International Organization for Standardisation, specifically designed for managing greenhouse gas emissions and removals at an organizational level. Put simply, it defines how we calculate and report our greenhouse gas emissions across all operations at Fourstones.
Given our role as a paper manufacturer, it’s no secret that our processes demand substantial energy consumption. Whether it involves a pulp mill transforming wood, bamboo, or sugarcane into pulp, a paper mill using recycled materials to produce tissue, or a converter within our supply chain, understanding our carbon footprint is pivotal. It’s crucial to identify methods to minimise our environmental impact. With the looming challenges of climate change, acknowledging and addressing our operational carbon footprint and its impact on end-users using and disposing of our products is essential.
Securing ISO 14064-1:2018 underscores Fourstones’ commitment to accurate and credible greenhouse gas estimation—outpacing numerous businesses both in the UK and globally. It demonstrates our proactive stance toward environmental concerns, highlighting our dedication to mitigating our impact.
This newly acquired and third part certified data not only increases our awareness of our supply chain’s environmental impact but also enables us to create a targeted and measurable carbon reduction plan for 2024. This strategic approach ensures that Fourstones makes a more substantial and faster environmental impact while minimising wasted time and resources.
This certification was made possible through participation in a UK pilot program facilitated by Interface NRM and Nero-Carbon. Their help and support has been vital throughout the process.
