Hydrobond Centrefeed vs Laminated Centrefeed
Let’s start with Laminated centrefeed, what is it? Laminated centrefeeds are made by gluing two (or more) sheets of paper together. This is often a thin layer of glue before the paper is embossed. Whilst lamination can provide a stronger sheet, it is also associated with paper becoming rigid, losing its softness.
Sadly, laminated centrefeed is contributing to the needless addition of glues into our waterways through use and disposal.
Fourstones Hydrobond centrefeed addresses this, using our specialist paper expertise, we developed a unique solution to bond the sheets of our centrefeed. The result is Hydrobond centrefeed that have the strength associated with laminated centrefeed whilst retaining the softness and absorbency of traditional pressure-based ply bonding.
